I've always been a big fan of the old BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. When I found this Cylon armor on the internet I couldn't wait to make it completly chrome. But, that means you have to build a complete scene around the Cylons or else there isn't anything for them to reflect.
This took forever for my computer to render (draw) as it essentially has to draw the same picture 4 times, once for the scene and once for each reflection.
Now that I've discovered how to make 3-D pictures, I'm anxious to re-do this one in 3-D. Problem is, there are a bunch of cheats in this picture. Some objects in the scene are actually flat set pieces (basically pictures painted on the walls) which will be very obvious in 3-D. Plus, when you make a picture 3-D you have to render it twice (once for each eye view) meaning it took a long time to render the first time, now I'll have to do it twice! |
